Our History

The Umma University Red Cross Chapter (UURC) was established in 2021 with the aim of promoting humanitarian values, community service, and student engagement within the university.

Since its formation, the chapter has actively participated in a range of impactful activities, including tree planting initiatives, health awareness campaigns, first aid competitions, and advocacy programs such as the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) awareness campaign.

In 2023, the chapter achieved a significant milestone by being officially registered as a recognized chapter under the Red Cross structure in Kajiado County. This recognition marked an important step in strengthening its operations, visibility, and contribution to community service.

Over the years, the chapter has continued to grow in strength and impact, providing students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, volunteerism, and a strong sense of social responsibility. Through dedication and teamwork, the chapter remains committed to serving both the university and the wider community.
